PIMS 2016: Suzuki displays award-winning Celerio CVT and new Ciaz

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPI) presented an entertaining show during the 6th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). However, the stars of their booth are their award-winning duo – the Celerio CVT and the all-new Ciaz.

These models won awards from the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Fuel Economy Run earlier this year.

2016 Suzuki Celerio

The Celerio CVT, which is powered by a 1.0 3-cylinder gasoline engine, is capable of producing 67 hp and 90 Nm of torque. This particular variant of the subcompact hatchback is efficient enough to win the Best Fuel Rating in the Overall Gasoline Category with 29.14 km/l.

Interior amenities for the Celerio are fabric seats, manual air conditioning, and an integrated audio unit that can connect via USB port or an Auxiliary cable, as well as play AM, FM, CD, and MP3 formats through 4 speakers. This subcompact hatchback may carry up to 254 L in its boot and can expand once the rear 60:40 split seats are folded. SRP for the Celerio CVT is P558,000 while a manual variant is also available for P598,000.

2017 Suzuki Ciaz

Meanwhile, the all-new Ciaz also shared the spotlight during PIMS. This latest addition to SPI’s impressive lineup is a 5-seater subcompact sedan that produced a 27.94 km/l fuel economy rating, which is the best in the Sedan/Gasoline Category.

Aside from the many storage compartments inside, the Ciaz boasts its generous legroom and trunk space. It’s also equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen audio unit capable of Mirror Link or navigation depending on the variant and leather seats for entertainment and comfort. The Ciaz comes with a sticker price of P823,000 for the GL MT variant, P837,000 for the GL AT and P978,000 for the range-topping GLX variant.

2017 Suzuki Ertiga

Also on display was the facelifted Ertiga 7-seater MPV. It has 4 variants all powered by a 1.4 L VVT gasoline engine that can produce 95 hp and 130 Nm of torque mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, a 1-DIN audio unit is available for the entry-level GA variant while a touchscreen audio unit with navigation comes standard for GA model.
