Choosing the right car for you and your family can be a difficult decision, especially with the multitude of options available on the market today. If you are looking for a seven-seater, this task becomes even harder as there are so many vehicles within this segment that each has something unique to offer you. On top of all of this, these vehicles cost money and can be a huge investment for you and your family. Naturally, you would want something worth the coin and to be safe as well.
Enter the 2023 Ford Everest, the next-generation version of the popular seven-seater that comes with a new exterior design, a new set of features, a brand new interior, and a whole new set of safety features that put it a cut above the rest in terms of its competition.
Comfortable interior
For a family car, comfort should be one of the higher priorities on the list as you will probably have the vehicle for a long time. As the Ford Everest is a 7-seater SUV, there is plenty of space to go around, where it gets a bit tight is in the 3rd row. However, the second row can move forward to give everyone plenty of space at the back. Cargo space is great even with the 3rd row up where you can store a couple of overnight bags and even a small maletta as well.
Large infotainment system
As the Ford Everest comes with the most updated tech available for the local market, it comes with some pretty handy features that most of the family will enjoy. For instance, it comes with a massive 10 or 12-inch infotainment system that comes in a portrait-style layout—the size depends on what variant you get. This increases the usable space for the screen without having to resort to a horizontal layout. That being said, the infotainment system not only comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto but also comes with other features that can keep the family entertained. One of these features is a game mode, which lets you play tic-tac-toe while the vehicle is parked and a coloring mode which lets you color templates of Ford vehicles. If you want to go freestyle, the infotainment also supports this and lets you draw anything on it. There are also multiple USB ports available throughout the vehicle to help keep the devices of your kids or loved ones fully charged.
Power on demand
The Ford Everest is still one of the more powerful SUVs you can get on the market today. Its lower variants come with a 2.0-liter single turbo diesel motor that pushes out 170 hp and 405 Nm of torque connected to a six-speed automatic. While its higher variants come with the 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo motor that pushes out 210hp and 500 Nm of torque. Power is sent to either just the rear wheels or to all four via a 10-speed automatic transmission. With such great power, the Everest is capable of bringing your family and cargo around with ease.
Safety and Security
When buying a family car, you will want it to be as safe as possible to help protect your loved ones from any unwanted incidents. This is where the Everest shines as it comes with more safety features than ever. It comes standard with seven SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with traction control, hill launch assist, rollover mitigation, an electric parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, a security alarm system, a rearview camera, and cruise control. An electric brake booster comes exclusively for the top variant.
Ford's Advanced Driver Assist Technology takes center stage for this generation. It’s exclusive to the top-spec Everest Bi-Turbo Titanium+, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and a forward collision warning system. It also includes active safety features like an auto high beam, lane departure warning, and a lane-keeping system.
Rounding out the safety features list is a blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert and braking, reverse brake assist, evasive steering assist, and Active Park Assist 2.0. The new 360-degree camera is also exclusive to the top-spec model.
Great warranty
If you want something that lasts, the Ford Everest has also got you covered with its great warranty. For every purchase of the SUV, it comes with a 5-year/150,000 km warranty whichever comes first. This gives you as the owner some peace of mind knowing that your car will last and that you will have less to think about. Just make sure that you keep up with regular maintenance as the latest technology does come at a price.
That being said, the Ford Everest covers all the right bases for being a family car. It has a great interior, it has the technology to keep the kids busy and happy, and comes with the power to haul your family and more. On top of this, it also comes with a great warranty to give you some peace of mind with one less thing to worry about.
