Five features in the Lynk & Co 01 you might not know about

With the launch of the Lynk & Co brand came the arrival of the 01, the brand’s PHEV offering for the Philippines. The Lynk & Co 01 is a crossover of many firsts, it’s the first car to be produced by Lynk & Co, and as it turns out, it’s also the first crossover to be built on the all-new CMA platform.

The Compact Modular Architecture Platform, also known as CMA, is a mid-size unibody platform developed by Zeekr Technology Europe AB, the European R&D arm of Zeekr. The 01 shares this platform with Geely models like the Galaxy L and Galaxy L7 and notably, European models like the Volvo XC40, the Polestar 2, and even the Renault Grand Koleos.

Geely states that the CMA platform is highly versatile, supporting various propulsion systems ranging from internal combustion engines (ICE) to fully electric setups. It also accommodates advanced technologies, including capabilities for up to Level 4 autonomous driving. 

Globally, the 01 is available between a choice of two engines: a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Both these engines come from Volvo’s Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA) family of engines. Specifically, the engine in the 01 PHEV is known as the JLH-3G15TD and is paired with a hybrid system and a seven-speed DCT.

Don’t count it out for having a three-cylinder engine though, the Lynk & Co 01 puts out a decent amount of power. The total system output for the 01 is rated at 258 hp and 265 Nm of torque. Add to that the fact that the hybrid system develops less carbon emissions and improves fuel efficiency, the Lynk & Co 01 is an impressive hybrid crossover.

A stand-out feature in the 01 which is also included in other vehicles in the Lynk & Co lineup is called the Park-Out function. This feature is included in the 01’s semi-automatic parking feature and is quite helpful if you’re in tight spaces. 

We all know how semi-automatic parking works. These systems utilize the car’s built-in sensors to help guide drivers into a tight parking space. The Park-Out feature operates similarly but in reverse. Instead of assisting you in parking, it helps you navigate out of a parking spot. This feature is incredibly handy in crowded areas or parking spaces with numerous blind spots, making your exit smoother and safer.

While this feature may not be as secret as most, the average car buyer tends to dismiss the sound system portion of the brochure and pay more attention to the screen sizes of the infotainment system. 

You’ll be happy to know that the 01 has both, an expansive 12.8-inch Infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, as well as a 10-speaker Harman Infinity system. A convenient touchscreen control center and crisp audio? In the 01, that’s a big check.

In addition to reducing emissions, Lynk & Co has taken another step toward sustainability with the 01 by using Econyl, a recycled material. Developed by the Italian company Aquafil, Econyl serves as a high-performance, eco-friendly alternative to traditional nylon. It’s made from 100% regenerated nylon, sourced from recycled waste like discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, industrial plastics, and carpets. Fun fact: the Lynk & Co 01 is the first vehicle in the world to feature Econyl in its upholstery, setting a new standard for sustainable car interiors.
