A look into Zeekr's Philippine lineup

There's a new name in the Philippine luxury EV market, and it's one that means business. Zeekr is Geely Holding Group's dedicated premium electric vehicle brand, established in 2021 with  one clear mission: to go toe-to-toe with the world's most recognized EV names and win on both technology and luxury.

Unlike many of the Chinese EV brands you may know that have flooded the market with budget-friendly options, Zeekr is standing firm in the premium segment. Every model rides on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, a fully electric, modular, and scalable chassis that underpins some of the most technologically ambitious EVs on the planet, including the Lotus Eletre and the Polestar 5.

Zeekr arrived in the Philippines in June 2024 under the Autohub Group, one of the country's most established automotive distributors, kicking things off with the 001 shooting brake. Since then, the lineup has grown. With three models now available locally, the 001, the 7X, and the 009, let's take a closer look at what Zeekr Philippines has on offer.

Let's start with the model that put Zeekr on the map: the 001. Described by Zeekr as the world's first mass-produced pure electric shooting brake, the 001 is a car that’s hard to put in one single category. It blends the long, sleek roofline of a wagon with the aggressive squat of a crossover coupe, resulting in something that’s unique.

Up front, Zeekr equips the 001 with intelligent matrix LED projection headlights featuring Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) technology. At the rear, a 1.47-meter full-width LED tail light bar spans the entire width of the car, making it instantly recognizable in traffic. The exterior has also been aerodynamically optimized through over 1,000 simulations to achieve an ultra-low 0.23 drag coefficient, complemented by four frameless soft-close doors just so you know its a luxury piece.

Inside, the cabin features a 15.4-inch center touchscreen, an 8.9-inch instrument cluster, and a head-up display, all of which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip running on 16 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage. A 5.7-inch rear-row touchscreen lets passengers control climate settings independently. Three-zone intelligent climate control, multi-color ambient lighting, and an N95-grade HVAC air filtration system round out the comfort features. There's also a remarkably versatile 2,144-liter trunk when the rear seats are folded, which, according to Zeekr, is inspired by a traveler's multi-functional suitcase.

Performance-wise, the 001 AWD offers a 100 kWh battery with a claimed WLTP range of up to 580 kmt. The AWD variant cranks out a peak power output of 537 hp and goes from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Standard 200 kW DC charging takes the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in under 30 minutes. The ride is managed by an automatic air suspension system with five-level real-time height adjustment, while a variable gear ratio steering system adapts sensitivity based on speed, meaning steering feel is more responsive at low speeds, and heavier and more stable the faster you go. Four-piston brake calipers and AMS ventilated discs bring it all to a stop in as little as 34.5 meters from 100 km/h.

If the 001 is Zeekr's statement piece, the 7X is its crowd-pleaser. Unveiled at the opening of Zeekr's first Philippine showroom in BGC, the 7X is a proper family luxury crossover that competes in one of the most contested segments in the local market. Starting at P2,799,000 for the Essential RWD and P3,599,000 for the Privilege AWD variant, it’s poised as a serious contender against known names in the business.

On the outside, the 7X follows what Zeekr calls a "Hidden Energy" exterior philosophy. The crossover's classic high-beltline silhouette gives it a bold yet poised stance, while the Zeekr Stargate integrated smart light curtain across the front is one of the more dramatic lighting signatures in the segment. The frameless automatic doors open 66 degrees at the front and a full 90 degrees at the rear, with smart electric actuation and concealed handles accented by night guidance lighting. Aerodynamically, the 7X achieves a 0.247 drag coefficient, validated through thousands of hours of simulation and wind tunnel testing.

Inside, the interior takes its cues from what Zeekr calls a "Home" design philosophy. The dashboard wraps around the full instrument panel and extends through the door panels into the rear, creating a warm, cocoon-like ambiance. The centerpiece of the tech stack is a triple-screen setup: a 13.02-inch HD instrument cluster, a 16-inch 3.5K Mini-LED central display, and a 36.21-inch AR-HUD system, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, the same platform found in flagship smartphones. Nappa full top grain leather seats, a Zeekr Sound Pro premium audio system, ripple-effect ambient lighting, electric sunroof and rear window shades, and an 8.0-liter dual-mode temperature-controlled refrigerator round out the luxury amenities. Storage is impressively practical too, with 36 individual storage spaces and a maximum trunk capacity of 1,978 liters.

Under the floor sits a 100 kWh Qilin Battery operating on an 800-volt high voltage architecture. That 800V system enables blistering faster charging: a 15-minute charge session can add up to 546 km of range under CLTC testing conditions. The Long Range RWD variant manages a 615 km WLTP target range, while the Performance AWD variant covers zero to 100 km/h in a brisk 3.8 seconds. Ride quality is handled by air suspension with CCD electromagnetic damping, ensuring the 7X remains planted and comfortable regardless of road conditions.

Moving to safety features, seven airbags come standard, including advanced front airbags and far-side protection, alongside a full 360-degree active safety system with multiple cameras and radar. An occupant monitoring system watches the rear seats through a dedicated camera and displays the feed on the central screen, a particularly useful feature for families with young children. Sentry Mode automatically records surrounding activity when suspicious behavior is detected while parked.

Then there's the 009, this model sets its sights on luxury people movers. Launched locally in, the 009 is a pure electric luxury MPV that sets out to redefine what this segment can be.

At 5,217 mm long, 2,024 mm wide, and with a 3,205 mm wheelbase, the 009 is an imposing machine. It wears its size well, though, thanks to a world-first intelligent front grille with a customizable light system that doubles as a personalization feature. The 1.47-meter full-width tail light bar mirrors the one on the 001, giving the 009 an unmistakable road presence despite the MPV format. It may not look like it, but the 009 has a  0.27 drag coefficient which is rather surprising for a vehicle of this size and shape.

The 009’s party piece in the interior is the second-row Sofaro First-Class Airline Seats with full Nappa leather upholstery — large, deeply reclined chairs with massage functions, foldable tables, and the ability to shift into what Zeekr calls "Eames Lounge Chair Mode," where the occupant's feet can be raised level with their thighs and torso for maximum comfort on long journeys. All key seats, including the driver and front passenger, also feature electric massage functions.

Like the two cars before it, the 009 is brimming with tech. A 15.05-inch OLED center display and a 17-inch OLED ceiling-mounted screen for rear passengers are powered by dual Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipsets. Thirty Yamaha speakers, including eight embedded into seat headrests, fill the cabin with audio. An 8.6-liter cooling and heating refrigerator offers constant-temperature storage on the go. Zeekr calls it an "executive lounge on wheels," and we find it hard to argue with that description.

The 009 is a big van but it doesn’t mean its a slouch on the road. A dual-motor setup produces a combined 777 hp and 810 Nm of torque, launching this full-size van from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The hefty 108 kWh battery provides up to 702 km of range under the CLTC standard. Dual-chamber air suspension and a Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) electromagnetic damping system keep the ride smooth regardless of road surface, while a Comfort Stop Technology (CST) braking system stops the 009 from 100 km/h in a minimum of 36.9 meters. Structural safety comes from a one-piece die-cast rear aluminum body section, a dome-shaped armored body structure, and a ten-grid battery protection apparatus rated to withstand 75 tons of lateral impact.

For the Philippine market, the 009 is offered in 7-seater and 6-seater configurations, both using the 108 kWh battery pack with the dual-motor AWD setup. 

All-in-all the Zeekr 001, 7X, and 009 represent a coherent, well-rounded luxury EV lineup that covers three distinct needs: the driver who wants something exotic and fast, the family that needs space without sacrificing premium feel, and the executive who expects business class standards in an automobile.
