In the Philippines, seven-seater vehicles are often crowned as family cars due to their versatility in transporting both people and cargo. These cars are especially popular in a country like ours, where space is essential and vehicles need to be capable of handling multiple tasks.

Given their popularity, it's no surprise that these vehicles generate significant demand in the market, particularly in terms of inquiries on the AutoDeal site. We've compiled a list of the top five family cars that garnered the most inquiries on AutoDeal in 2024. And just a heads-up, the top car might catch you off guard.
Mitsubishi Xpander

First on our list is quite surprising, it’s the Mitsubishi Xpander. The Mitsubishi Xpander has been with us for quite some time now, debuting in 2018, and has received its most recent facelift back in 2022. Still, despite its age, the Xpander continues to maintain a dominant position in the MPV market.
Powering this MPV is a 1.5-liter DOHC gasoline engine featuring Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing Electronic Control (MIVEC). This four-cylinder engine delivers 105 hp and 141 Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of tech, the Xpander is equipped with either a seven-inch or nine-inch infotainment system depending on the variant. Standard features include a reverse camera, a keyless entry system, and dual SRS airbags up front. Exclusive for the top-tier GLS variant is an electronic parking brake, traction control, active stability control, and hill-start assist.
The Xpander is priced starting at P1,068,000 for the GL MT, going up to P1,216,000 for the GLS AT. Its competitive price, impressive features, and stylish design have helped it maintain its popularity to this day.
Ford Everest

The Ford Everest is the next family vehicle that has captured the attention of Filipino buyers. A mid-size SUV built on the Ranger pickup platform, the Everest stands out with its seven seats and spacious interior, making it a great fit for large families.
The Everest is offered with either a rear-wheel-drive or a 4x4 configuration, depending on the variant.
Ford Philippines offers two engine options for the Everest. The first is a 2.0-liter Single-Turbo EcoBlue diesel engine, producing 170 hp and 405 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
For more power, there's the 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo EcoBlue diesel engine, which delivers 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque. A 10-speed Automatic Transmission is exclusive for this engine. Like its previous generations, the current Everest leads the way in terms of tech.
Inside, the Everest is packed with features, including a standard eight-inch digital instrument cluster, with an optional 12-inch upgrade, and a choice of a 10-inch or 12-inch SYNC 4A touchscreen display. The top-tier Bi-Turbo Titanium+ model also offers a 360-degree camera. Additionally, this variant is the only one equipped with Ford’s Advanced Driver Assist Technology. With this impressive feature set and its bold, chiseled design, it’s easy to see why the Everest earned a spot on this list.
Mitsubishi Montero Sport

Taking the third spot is another Mitsubishi, the Montero Sport. Hot on the heels of the Ford Everest. Interest in the Montero Sport was revitalized after Mitsubishi introduced a facelift in 2024 that refreshed its exterior and interior along with several tech upgrades.
At its core, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport features a ladder-frame chassis and is available in either rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive configurations. It is powered by the 4N15 engine, a 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-4 DOHC 16-valve diesel motor that produces 179 hp and 430 Nm of torque. This diesel engine is equipped with a Variable Geometry Turbo and Mitsubishi's Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) technology to enhance performance. Power is delivered to the wheels through either an eight-speed Aisin automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.
The Montero Sport is famous among its contemporaries for its smooth and compliant ride as well as the off-road capabilities of its four-wheel drive variants. With its reputation and strong, commanding presence on the road, the Mitsubishi Montero has earned its spot.
Toyota Innova

The respected Innova ranks fourth in total inquiries, and it's no surprise. The Innova has long been the benchmark for MPVs and remains a top choice for those seeking a durable and reliable vehicle.
The Innova is built on Toyota's IMV platform, which it shares with the Hilux and Fortuner. Under the hood, this ever-popular MPV is powered by a 2.8-liter diesel engine that delivers 172 hp and 360 Nm of torque in the automatic variants, and 168 hp and 343 Nm of torque in the manual variants. This engine is paired with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual. Combine that engine with seven seats and loads of space in the back, the Innova is a popular choice for buyers that require a people mover and cargo hauler all in one.
Every time you hit the road, you're likely to spot an Innova, whether it's new or old, and the reason is simple: people love them. The fact that the Innova continues to attract inquiries even after nearly nine years on the market is a clear sign that it remains a popular choice.
Toyota Avanza

Sitting at number five is the Avanza, a staple in the MPV market alongside the Innova. Launched in 2022, the new Avanza continues to generate strong interest. The third-generation model boasts a completely redesigned exterior and a more modern interior, all while maintaining an affordable price, with the top variant priced at P1,065,000.
The Avanza is available with two engine options. It is powered by either a 1.3L 1NR-VE chain-drive engine with Dual VVT-i, producing 95 hp and 121 Nm of torque, or a 1.5L 2NR-VE engine that generates 103 hp and 136 Nm of torque. Both engine options are available with either a five-speed manual or a CVT transmission.
The Toyota Avanza is equipped with either an eight-inch or a 6.75-inch infotainment system. As for safety, the Avanaza comes standard with dual front airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, side door impact beams, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat tethers.
With its roomy interior and competitive price, the Avanza is a popular choice for growing families. Additionally, its robust safety features offer added peace of mind for every journey.
