Chery Tiggo rEV

Filipino roads are seeing more electrified vehicles than ever, and one model from Chery is enjoying a good chunk of that shift. Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) just announced that its Tiggo rEV, the brand's top-selling nameplate locally, has now put over 1,000 units into the hands of Filipino motorists.

The milestone lines up nicely with a solid sales run for the brand this year. CAP moved 220 units in June alone, up 69 percent compared to the same month last year. Zoom out to the first half of 2026, and the numbers look even stronger: 981 units sold between January and June, a 58 percent jump year-on-year.

“The milestone of over 1,000 Tiggo rEVs on Philippine roads means that more customers are discovering that the Tiggo rEV delivers the right balance of efficiency, performance, comfort, and advanced technology while providing real savings in everyday driving. We are grateful for the trust our customers continue to place in the Chery brand, and we remain committed to delivering mobility solutions that make every family journey smarter and more rewarding.”

That growing interest tracks with a broader trend among Filipino drivers, who are increasingly looking past traditional gas-only options in favor of vehicles that offer better range and lower running costs without giving up the practicality a family needs. The Tiggo rEV fits right into that lane. It runs on a plug-in hybrid setup, seats up to seven, and comes loaded with a well-appointed cabin plus tech features built for both the daily grind and the occasional long drive.

Sales numbers aside, CAP has also been putting work into the ownership side of things. The brand's aftersales network draws on two decades of experience from United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), covering everything from routine servicing to access to genuine parts. As CAP's dealer footprint grows, that support system is meant to give owners fewer headaches and more confidence once they've driven off the lot.

Looking ahead, Chery Auto Philippines says it plans to keep expanding its lineup of electrified options, with an emphasis on vehicles that are safe, practical, and built around real family needs. That direction ties back to the company's global tagline, For the Family, which shapes much of its product planning.

The local momentum also mirrors what's happening for Chery on a larger scale. Globally, the Chery Group sold 1,357,533 vehicles in the first half of 2026, cementing its spot as one of the fastest-growing automakers worldwide. With a global customer base that now crosses 19.88 million owners, the company continues to lean on innovation and product development to keep that growth going, both abroad and here in the Philippines.
