The 10th BOSS IronMan Motorcycle Challenge

Years of experience in motoring and motorsports have taught us that life is just as important as the fun of getting from Point-A to Point-B and back. With regards to this, last December 29 2014 saw an effort by the BMW Owners Society of Saferiders (BOSS) and the Asian Carmakers Corporation (the country’s official distributor of BMW automobiles) to help strengthen that sense of responsible motoring fun and safety with its 10th staging of the BOSS IronMan Motorcycle Challenge. In collaboration with the BMW Motorad, this event will be green-flagged on the night 23rd of January 2015 at the posh Hotel Stotsenberg in Clark Pampanga, and will make its way across Northern Luzon. Expected to attract more than 300 participants, this event will be open not just for riders, but for car enthusiasts as well, thus livening up that sense of camaraderie.

Covering a prescribed route of 1,200 kilometres, the endurance run will pass through mandatory checkpoints in Marcos Highway, Baguio, Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Magapit Bridge, Cagayan Valley, Tumawini, Isabela, and San Leonardo Nueva Ecija, before capping it off back at the Hotel Stotsenberg in Pampanga. Participant will have the option to join individually on big bikes and car divisions, or enter with a motorcycle team in the Group of 10 divisions.

the BOSS IronMan Motorcycle Challenge is test of stamina, road navigation skills, and riding management.

According to BOSS IronMan Challenge Committee (BICC) Chairman Petchoy Morales III and BOSS President De San Jose, the BOSS IronMan Motorcycle Challenge is test of stamina, road navigation skills, and riding management. As such, ample physical prep and thorough (and regular) vehicle inspection is encouraged to prevent any accidents.

Furthermore, to ensure the safety and security of the participants, a strict set of requirements are to be completed in order to qualify. These include essential riding gears and motorcycle equipment, as well as proper documentation of the drivers/riders and their vehicles by the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Igniting the passion a decade ago, the BOSS IronMan Motorcycle Challenge has set a benchmark in advocating not just safe and responsible road manners, but also promoting many of the country’s scenic tourist spots. Elevating the local tourism, the BOSS IronMan Motorcycle Challenge has succeeded in gathering many Filipino and foreign automobile and motorcycle enthusiasts to spread this good deed, and be a role model to aspiring drivers and riders.

As we celebrate this first decade milestone, we hope to continue providing our riders and drivers a holistic experience and being of service to the motoring public.

“We are proud to have inspired our fellow riders and car drivers to understand the immeasurable value of safety on the road while establishing a platform for tourism in the country. As we celebrate this first decade milestone, we hope to continue providing our riders and drivers a holistic experience and being of service to the motoring public.” adds Morales Prior to this, an official briefing will be held on January 7 2015 at 6:00pm at Autohaus BMW in E. Rodriguez Libis Quezon City. To acquaint the registered challengers, things to be discussed include rules and guidelines, plus some updates.

In conclusion, an awarding ceremony will be held on 25th of January at 10;00am at Hotel Stotsenberg Clark Pampanga.
