If you applied for a 2017 Ford GT, you aren’t the only one. According to Ford, there’s a total of 6,506 individuals who are waiting in line for the first 500 units of the GT.
Ford added that the number of applicants spiked in the last six days during which 32% of the total applications were completed.
“We’re excited by the amount of enthusiasm fans are showing for the new Ford GT. This initial application window is just one of many ways fans and potential owners will have to connect with our all-new supercar even before it hits the streets,” said Dave Pericak, director of Global Ford Performance.
With that in mind, the 6,506 applicants are probably anxious to know whether or not they will be among the first 500 lucky buyers of the 2017 Ford GT. As of this writing, Ford is reviewing the applications and will start notifying potential owners in the next 90 days.
Last month, Ford Ph also accepted applications for the 2017 GT. The company said that local applicants would be advised which dealers would cater them if they are approved.
The 2017 Ford GT is powered by a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine that delivers 600 hp. It is then mated to a 7-speed automated manual transmission with paddle shifts.
