Alongside the head-turner 2018 Mustang, Ford also pulled the covers off the most-awaited all-new Expedition at the 15th Manila International Auto Show. This full-size SUV boasts a striking design, improved performance, and a set of features for a luxurious driving experience.
Starting off, the king-sized SUV flaunts a commanding presence with its large headlights, triangular fog lamps, and wide grille covered by chrome accents. Despite being the brand’s largest SUV, the all-new Expedition shed around 136 kg of weight from its predecessor, all thanks to its all-aluminum alloy body.
Inside, the luxurious Expedition has a spacious cabin that can seat up to eight people comfortably. For a more convenient ride, this three-row SUV features 12-speaker audio unit and SYNC 3 with built-in navigation that can be controlled through a simple voice command. No need to worry on gadgets running out of battery as there are power outlets on every row and a wireless charging system for select mobile phones.
Powering this large SUV is a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine that can churn out a maximum output of 375 hp and 637 Nm torque, connected to a 10-speed Select Shift automatic transmission. This wide ratio span is capable of performing quicker shift time and better response. It also uses a Rotary Gear Shift Dial that enables drivers shift gears in an instant by pressing the “M” control.

Another thing to point out in the all-new Expedition is its new system that can make driver’s life easier. There’s the Driver-Selectable Terrain Management System (TMS) that helps vehicles adapt to different road conditions for greater driving experience.
This system offers four modes for all models including Normal, Sport, Towl/Haul, and EcoSelect. Moreover, the two 4WD variants come with seven driver selectable TMS modes such as Grass/Gravel/Snow, Sand, and Mud/Rut. It has basically anything you need when driving. Cool.
When it comes to safety features, it is loaded with driver-assist technologies including Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with trailer coverage and cross-traffic alert, Forward Sensing System, Reverse Sensing System, and Traction Control.
The 2018 Expedition is now available at Ford dealerships nationwide. Customers have variety of colors to from such as Magnetic Metallic, White Platinum, Shadow Black, and Blue Metallic. As mentioned above, this full-size SUV comes in two variants: 3.5L Expedition 4WD Limited MAX with bucket seats (P4,358,000) and 3.5L Expedition 4WD Limited MAX (P4,258,000).
