Toyota Motor Philippines is set to launch the 2020 Hiace Super Grandia on August 19, 2019, following the world premiere of the sixth-generation Hiace last February. That launch showcased four variants of the Hiace but it was missing the Super Grandia variant.
Under the hood of the Hiace Super Grandia is the same 2.8-liter turbo diesel found in the Fortuner and Innova. This engine will be producing 160 hp and 450 Nm of torque and will also come standard with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Like the previous model, the Super Grandia will have several trim levels that come in fabric and leather, with the added bonus of a third trim level, the Elite. Each of these variants will also have the two-tone option. Another similarity that it shares with the old model is the dual sliding doors. The Elite version of the van will have power sliding doors, while four captain seats will come standard in all Super Grandia variants.
The Elite and Leather versions of the Super Grandia will have black interiors while the Fabric trim level will have black and beige interior theme. The interior of the Elite variant will also be more upscale similar to that of the Alphard, somehow blurring the line further in distinguishing the Super Grandia from the Alphard in terms of interior seating and comfort.
For features, the Super Grandia will have nine airbags, stability control, and anti-lock brakes. The highest trim level of the Super Grandia, the Elite, will feature Toyota Safety Sense. This will include a lane departure alert system, a pre-collision system, and adaptive cruise control. In terms of lighting the Elite will have LED lighting up front, a rear backup camera, headlamp washers amongst other notable features.
The 2020 Super Grandia is sure to be a contender in the van market as an option for a luxury choice. When Toyota launches the 2020 Super Grandia we will be sure to update you on the full specifications and pricing of the vehicle.
