Maxus Philippines is kicking off the year strong by introducing the 2021 Maxus D60. The new vehicle is the 5th model of the brand to enter the local automotive market and has positioned itself as a 5 or 7-seater compact crossover. It comes well equipped with features and comes with a powerful turbocharged gasoline engine under the hood. It also comes with a very competitive price tag especially for those looking to get a feature-packed 7-seater that won’t break the bank.
Exterior
On the outside, the Maxus D60 takes design cues from spiders as it features a massive cobweb themed grille with the brand’s logo found in the center. The vehicle also features several aggressive design cues that give it a sportier look. These are in part thanks to the sleek-looking headlights and tail lights as well as the angular fog light moldings. It is important to note that the LED headlights are only found on the Elite variants, while the Pro models only come with halogen headlights. Both variants do, however, come with LED daytime running lights as standard and come with two rim size choices depending on the variant chosen. The D60 is also one of the longest vehicles in its class coming in with a length of 4,720mm bringing it very close to the midsize category.
Interior
Entering the cabin of the Maxus D60, you are greeted with an expansive dashboard with an equally large 8-inch infotainment system. While there is no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto available with the infotainment system it does feature a mirror link option so you can mirror your smartphone’s display. As for the vehicle’s seating capacity the D60 can be had in either a 5-seater or 7-seater configuration depending on the variant chosen along with rear aircon vents. Fabric and leather seats are also available with the vehicle but are variant-specific, as the Elite gets the leather option and the Pro gets the fabric option. The Maxus D60 also comes with driver aids that will also give you peace of mind when using the vehicle. It comes with a rearview camera as well as sensors found in the front and in the rear of the vehicle to give you a better sense of your surroundings. It also comes with a tire pressure monitoring system so you know how your tires are doing at all times.
Power
Under the hood, the Maxus D60 comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 167 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It sends power to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This makes the vehicle one of the more powerful options within its class.
Safety
Maxus Philippines has also maxed-out the D60’s safety features as it comes with front and side airbags totaling six along with other safety features such as ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Control, an electronic stability program, ISOFIX child seat anchors, an electronic parking brake, and auto-hold function. Together these make the crossover easier to drive and safer for your family.
Price
Taking a look at the Maxus D60’s price list reveals that the vehicle is competitively priced. It can be had at its most affordable price at P1,148,000 with its range-topping model coming in way below the P1,300,000 price range. It also comes with a 5 year or 100,000 warranty, 5-year free emergency roadside assistance, and a 22% lower cost of ownership for 5-years versus other brands according to Maxus.
