Volkswagen Philippines officially introduces its newest vehicle, the Volkswagen T-Cross, into the local automotive market. The all-new global platform brings the brand’s timeless styling and a host of new features that many Filipinos will find interesting. On top of this, the T-Cross also boasts safety features that are above its class making it all the more enticing to those who want a safe yet affordable starter family vehicle.
To celebrate its official arrival into the local automotive market, the German automaker has a special activity in store. Dubbed the #TCrossTrendspotting, this activity lets the public send in as many photos of their random T-Cross sightings to the social media pages of Volkswagen Philippines with a quick caption describing their first impressions of the vehicle. The photo must also come with the hashtags #TCrossTrendspotting and #MoreThan1thing. From the activity, 5 winners will be chosen to receive a special prize.
The #TCrossTrendspotting activity will run from May 26, 2021, to June 30, 2021, and will not only showcase the beauty of the Volkswagen T-Cross but will also provide an exciting event for the motoring public to participate in. It will also give the public interesting glimpses of the crossover in different surroundings and conditions. Aside from the exciting activity, and introductory pricing for the vehicle, Volkswagen Philippines is also providing a P30,000 discount for those who reserve a unit within the promo period.
As the newest global model to enter the Volkswagen Philippine lineup the T-Cross brings with it a trendy design and a youthful interior layout which also includes a panoramic sunroof for all of its variants. It also comes with one of the longest wheelbases in its class. Aside from its exterior color-matched cabin accents, the T-Cross also provides a versatile interior that can provide up to 1,319 liters of cargo space. It also comes with either an 8-inch or 9.2-inch infotainment system that both supports Apple CarPlayand MirrorLink capabilities.
Where the T-Cross shines in its segment is through its safety features. The crossover comes equipped with a strong body structure, electronic stabilization program, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring system, rear park distance control, LED headlights, a total of 6 airbags, a rear camera, and autonomous emergency braking for the SE variant. All these safety features and more make it one of the safer vehicle options you can get in the Philippine market today. It also carries with it impressive safety ratings from the Latin NCAP and Australasian NCAP receiving a 5-star rating from both.
Under its hood, the Volkswagen T-Cross is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated EURO 6 compliant gasoline engine for all of its variants. It produces 111 hp and 145 Nm of torque and shifts via a 6-speed automatic transmission with a Tiptronic function. Together this helps give the vehicle optimal fuel efficiency along with satisfying power for both city and out-of-town driving experiences.
Volkswagen Philippines is also aiming to make owning a T-Cross a stress-free experience. The German brand says that the crossover will only require a once-a-year periodic maintenance service or 10,000km (whichever comes first) giving more time to the owner to use and enjoy their vehicle. Volkswagen has also stated that the T-Cross is on average up to 40% more affordable than the industry standard in terms of maintenance costs during a 5 year ownership period. This is also coupled with a 3 year or 100,000km (whichever comes first) warranty and a spare parts warranty of 2 years.
The 2021 Volkswagen T-Cross comes with an introductory price of P1,068,000 for its entry-level model and P1,168,000 for its top-of-the-line SE variant. It is important to note that these prices will only last until the end of the promo on June 30, 2021, and the prices will be readjusted after.
