The 2022 Kia Forte GT has made its debut with a twist in its body style. While the sedan version of the Forte initially made its debut back in April, the sporty version of the vehicle now comes as a 5-door hatchback instead. Like its sedan counterpart, the South Korean hatchback has carried over most of the styling cues of its stablemate. This means that the 5-door hatchback still has the same sharp design as its sedan counterparts with only a few minor changes done to help distinguish one from the other.
The hatchback now gets a new set of headlights, a new grille, a new bumper. Aside from this the Kia Forte GT now also comes with re-designed triangular air inlets along with red lights on the grille. A new fog light housing is also present on the vehicle along with a new set of wheels to help differentiate it from its sedan counterpart. At the rear, the 2022 Kia Forte GT comes with a new set of tail lights to match its hatchback design along with a redesigned bumper and oval exhausts as well.
On the inside, the Kia Forte GT hatchback gets a large 10.25-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster display. Aside from this, the sporty hatchback also gets heated and cooled seats, wireless charging, rear airconditioning vents, and an 8-speaker sound system. To further differentiate it from the standard model, the Kia Forte GT also gets special seats with the “GT” emblem embossed on it along with red accent stitching.
Under the hood, the GT variant remains largely the same as the standard model. This means that it comes with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that produces 204 hp and 265 Nm of torque that sends power to the front wheels via a 7-speed DCT. As this is the GT model, Kia has tweaked the suspension a bit to give it better ride balance and slightly better handling.
While the Kia Forte has already launched in other countries, there is still no word from Kia Philippines if they are ready to bring the new model into the country. Only time will tell, however, as it is still a possibility.
