Kia Motor Company previously released teaser images of the all-new 2022 Sportage. While the photos were able to showcase the crossover’s radical new design, its other specifications still remained unknown. Now, however, more information about the vehicle has been released which includes its host of new safety features as well as its new engine options.

Starting from the inside, the all-new 2022 Kia Sportage now comes with a massive touchscreen display inside the cabin. Aside from this, the South Korean crossover will also be getting a host of new advanced driver-assist features. These include forward and blind-spot collision avoidance, a blind-spot view monitor, highway driving assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, and remote parking assist just to name a few.
The Sportage will also be getting a new Terrain Mode feature. This will allow the crossover to automatically adjust its settings for any road conditions such as snow, mud, or sand. Aside from this, the vehicle also comes with standard driving modes such as Eco, Sport, and Comfort.

Kia has stated that it has meticulously tuned the crossover’s suspension and steering to heavily improve its driving dynamics. The Sportage will also be getting a new electronic control suspension that will help give the vehicle a smoother ride. The new 4WD system will also ensure that power is evenly distributed around the vehicle and when needed.
Under the hood, the all-new Kia Sportage will come with either a 1.6-liter gasoline motor that produces 178 hp and 265 Nm of torque or a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 183 hp and 417 Nm of torque. Transmission options for the crossover are either a 6-speed or 8-speed automatic, the former for the gasoline engine, the latter for the diesel motor. There is no official word yet if Kia Philippines will be bringing in the new model of the Sportage to the local market anytime soon.
