The 2023 Mazda CX-5 has received the Japanese brand’s new signature Rhodium White Premium color option. It’s the latest model to get Mazda’s new favorite color scheme after the CX-60 midsize crossover. The new color option is now available in the United States, presumably followed by other markets within the year.
Rhodium White Premium comes as a pure white paint option that epitomizes traditional Japanese aesthetics. It puts simplicity first, evoking a clean energy while avoiding excess elements. The paint is made of fine grain and does well to highlight the vehicle’s metallic texture when hit by light.
The new Mazda CX-5 for the Philippine market launched just this June. It debuted with Mazda’s evolved Kodo design language, complete with flowing lines and modern style. The compact crossover also comes with turbo power—a first for local-spec models.

Under the hood, it packs a massive 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged power plant, delivering 250 hp and 434 Nm of torque. It shifts with the same six-speed automatic transmission Mazda fans have come to know. There are also other options, including 2.5-liter and 2.2-liter mills, both naturally aspirated gasoline engines. The former makes 188 hp and 252 Nm of torque, while the latter punches out 152 hp and 200 Nm of torque.
In terms of tech, the Mazda CX-5 features an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Mazda’s MZD Connect interface. It also comes equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a must-have for today’s buyers. On top of that, the CX-5 gets i-ActivSense, Mazda’s proprietary safety system that includes features such as driver attention alert, lane departure warning, and smart city brake support.
While the new Rhodium White Premium color option is not yet available in the Philippines, the new Mazda CX-5 does come in Zircon Sand. It’s another signature Mazda paint scheme that straddles the line between bronze and beige.
We predict Rhodium White Premium will come to local models eventually, but the Zircon Sand color might be to your taste in the meantime. The 2022 Mazda CX-5 is still available in the Philippines starting at P1,890,000.
