2026 Nissan Almera

We reported a while back that the Nissan Almera is getting a refresh this year. That news came from a leak of the 2026 Nissan Versa. Now, Nissan has officially taken the covers off the new Versa, and we can now get a more detailed look at the facelifted compact sedan.

Even more good news, this isn’t just a simple nip and tuck for the Almera, it’s a major refresh with updates inside and out, keeping Nissan’s sedan in fighting form.

Nissan Almera Rear

Starting with the exterior, the Almera now adopts Nissan’s new design philosophy, giving it a sharper and more modern look. The front end gets a new bumper, redesigned headlights, and thin LED daytime running lights to give it a more aggressive face. The rear end also gets some love, featuring updated LED taillights separated by a black trim with the Versa name emblazoned on it. The trunk lid gets a new design along with rear reflectors framed by black accents that match the front. The sedan also rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with a turbine-style design.

Inside, the Almera gets a new interior design along with several tech upgrades. These include a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is paired with a seven-inch digital instrument cluster that the driver can customize based on their preferred layout.

The 2026 Almera also gets several comfort and convenience features. These include automatic climate control, Nissan Connect connectivity, leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and newly designed ergonomic headrests with built-in speakers. An eight-speaker Bose sound system is also available for those who want a more premium audio setup.

For the Mexican market, the Almera, sold there as the Versa, runs on a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 118 hp and 110 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a five-speed manual transmission or an Xtronic CVT, depending on the variant. Here in the Philippines, we get a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine pumping out 99 hp and 152 Nm of torque.
