BYD Cars Philippines, in partnership with ACMobility, is helping advance Valenzuela City’s environmental goals through a newly signed contract to supply 41 BYD Dolphin electric vehicles (EVs). These vehicles, provided by BYD Greenfield, will bolster the city’s police force, making Valenzuela the first Local Government Unit (LGU) in the Philippines to establish an EV police fleet—the largest of its kind in the nation.
This groundbreaking initiative ensures 24/7 security coverage for the city and reinforces its commitment to sustainability and cleaner technologies. It aligns with Valenzuela’s long-term environmental objectives and adheres to the mandates of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA) and Republic Act No. 1285, which advocate for the integration of EVs in government operations.
“By eliminating the need for fuel and significantly reducing maintenance costs, the BYD Dolphin offers the City of Valenzuela the potential to save up to 70% of its fleet’s operational and maintenance budget over a five-year period. This, combined with its zero tailpipe emissions, makes the BYD Dolphin a financially and environmentally sound investment for the city.”
Valenzuela City, a hub of thriving industries, continues its commitment to sustainability through initiatives like materials recovery, composting, and the Clean & Green program. Building on these efforts, the city is advancing environmental responsibility by integrating BYD Dolphin electric vehicles into its police fleet.
This transition to greener transportation reduces reliance on fossil fuels, lowers emissions, and improves air quality, reinforcing Valenzuela’s dedication to a cleaner, more sustainable future. This initiative places environmental responsibility at the core of public services, significantly reducing the city’s carbon footprint and promoting sustainable transport solutions.
To support this transition, ACMobility will install 20 7kW and 2 22kW EV chargers across the city, ensuring the efficient operation of Valenzuela’s electrified police fleet.
“Starting with the transformation of our fleets, beginning with police cars, we set a powerful example for private companies, communities, and individuals to reconsider their own choices,” said Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian, Mayor of Valenzuela City. “We recognize that our vision will not materialize overnight, but today, we take the wheel of change and drive towards the horizon of a cleaner future, where progress does not come at the expense of the environment.”
With its impressive specs and features, the BYD Dolphin is a perfect choice for Valenzuela City’s pioneering EV police fleet. Explore the BYD Dolphin on AutoDeal.com.ph, or better yet, enjoy a hassle-free car-buying experience anytime with the AutoDeal app, available on iOS and Android.
