Yesterday, ACMobility, Ayala’s mobility solutions arm, and Shell Pilipinas Corporation announced a partnership to install new charging stations at Shell service stations across the Philippines. This marks a major step toward ACMobility’s goal of deploying over 2,500 charging points while strengthening the Philippine EV Spine, the country’s first nationwide EV charging backbone.
“Shell is one of the most trusted service providers for motorists, with sites in key areas nationwide. ACMobility is pleased to welcome Shell as a partner in delivering the Philippine EV Spine Network. Beyond expanding infrastructure, this collaboration supports the growing EV community and strengthens the country’s transition to sustainable mobility.”
The Philippine EV Spine is ACMobility’s nationwide charging infrastructure network designed to enable seamless long-distance EV travel across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Through its partnership with Shell, ACMobility is leveraging the latter’s trusted network of service stations to rapidly expand this backbone, providing EV drivers with greater confidence, accessibility, and convenience on the road. This wider reach directly addresses range anxiety and ensures Filipinos have reliable access to charging hubs wherever they go.
The initial rollout will see ACMobility charging stations installed at 50 Shell service stations nationwide, with over 100 charging points in total. The first 20 sites will begin installation in late 2025, with charge points deployed at select Shell stations across all three major islands. The remaining 30 will follow in 2026. Each site will be fitted with DC fast chargers ranging from 60 to 120kW to meet the growing demand of EV drivers.
Once operational, users can locate, monitor, and pay for charging sessions through the Evro app—operated by Evro, the country’s largest e-mobility service provider, and ACMobility’s partner. In August, Evro and Shell also announced a partnership to integrate Shell Recharge stations into the app, enhancing both visibility and convenience for EV owners.
“Shell shares ACMobility’s vision of advancing sustainable mobility in the Philippines,” said Jolo Valdez, Head of Non-Fuel Retail and E-Mobility for Mobility at Shell. “By opening our stations to host ACMobility’s charging infrastructure, we are helping create a more reliable and accessible network for EV drivers nationwide.”
With this partnership driving momentum, ACMobility is on track to hit its 2025 expansion goals. Charging hubs are rapidly being deployed in key cities like Makati, Taguig, and Cebu, as well as across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. By bringing Shell into its growing ecosystem of partners from the residential, commercial, food, and hospitality sectors, ACMobility continues to strengthen the Philippine EV Spine as the backbone of sustainable mobility.
