Ford is about to shake up the midsize SUV segment once again with the all-new 2023 Ford Everest. The much-anticipated Ranger-based utility vehicle will reportedly make its global debut on March 1, 2022.
In a short teaser video, Ford showed off the next-generation Everest sparingly, but it does seem to confirm what we've gathered over the past year. The 2023 Everest will gain a similar front fascia as the new Ranger, complete with the C-shaped headlight setup. It also appears to have boxier styling than the current Everest, which could lend credence to a more rugged design this time around.
Apart from that, we don't know much about the all-new Everest. However, it's always safe to bet that it will have features similar to the Ranger. That means either a 10.1-inch or 12-inch vertical touchscreen display with the latest Ford SYNC 4 system. It could also mean the addition of a 360-degree camera and an electronic shifter. The new Everest could also gain more off-road focused features, like a new driving mode selector through the touchscreen display.
As for power, the 2023 Ford Everest could get brand new engine options. A new 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel power plant might be in the cards, as Ford confirmed it last year for the Ranger. The all-new Everest could also gain a new 2.3-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine, but that remains to be seen. Safe powertrain bets include the trusted 2.0-liter Turbo and Bi-Turbo diesel options.
Ford Philippines has confirmed it's launching the next-gen Ranger this year, but when the all-new Everest arrives locally is anyone's guess. It could be before the end of the year, but it could also just as easily launch early next year. Whatever the case may be, the 2023 Everest is sure to be an SUV to watch. We'll learn more about the new model when Ford unveils it to the world on March 1.
