Back in 2019, Hyundai first introduced the Venue at the New York Auto Show as the brand’s smallest crossover, slotting under the Kona. It was launched in the Philippines in 2020, arriving during the pandemic as Hyundai’s entry in the subcompact crossover segment. The model came with a 1.6L gasoline engine and was positioned as a more affordable crossover option for city buyers.
The Venue was eventually discontinued after a short run, but Hyundai Motor Philippines has now brought it back as the all-new Hyundai Venue. The new Venue is available in three variants: the base 1.6 GL 6MT priced at P778,000, the 1.6 GL 6AT at P898,000, and the top-spec 1.6 GLS 6AT at P998,000. All are powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that makes 121 hp and 151 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of size, the Venue measures 4,040 mm long, 1,770 mm wide, and 1,565 mm tall, with a 2,520 mm wheelbase. It offers seating for five passengers while keeping its compact footprint for city driving.
Exterior features include projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and alloy wheels ranging from 15-inch to 17-inch depending on the trim. The GLS variant gets added features such as halogen lamps with static bending, roof rails, and a rear spoiler.
Inside, the Venue is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth with voice recognition. The GLS variant adds a 4.2-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster, smart key with push-start button, and automatic climate control. Lower variants come with manual temperature controls and fabric seats.
For safety, all variants get dual airbags and ABS with EBD. The GLS variant upgrades this with side and curtain airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, parking distance warning, and a reverse camera. Exterior colors include Denim Blue, Ecotronic Gray, Abyss Black, and Atlas White, while the interior comes in black.
Now that it’s back, the Hyundai Venue once again serves as Hyundai’s entry model in the brand’s crossover line-up, placed below the Creta. It is built for those looking for a budget-friendly crossover with updated features for daily drives and weekend trips.
