Astara Philippines welcomes new leaders to grow its car brands

Astara Philippines has shared changes to its leadership team that will take effect on October 1, 2025. The company said the move will help grow its car brands and improve how it serves Filipino customers.

Ryan Bermudez, who has been the Sales Director of GAC Motor since 2023, will now become the Brand Head of GAC Motor. In this new role, he will lead the brand’s overall operations, focusing on sales and marketing strategies to further grow GAC’s presence in the country. Bermudez has more than 23 years of experience in the automotive industry. Astara Philippines Country Manager Luis Torres said Bermudez’s experience and leadership make him fit to lead GAC Motor’s next stage of growth.

Another key change is the expanded role of Ralph Descallar. Since 2023, he has been the Network Development Head and has helped make Astara brands more accessible to customers across the country. He will now also handle the technical, warranty, service, and sales training departments. Torres shared that this move will help Astara improve the way it supports its dealerships and customers.

Dong Magsajo has also been appointed as the new Media and Public Relations Head. With more than 25 years of experience in communications, marketing, and network development in the motoring industry, he will now lead marketing and brand-building efforts for all Astara brands in the Philippines. Before this role, Magsajo was Head of Sales Training for Astara’s car brands. Torres said his skills in communication and marketing will help strengthen the company’s presence and reach in the local market.

According to Astara Philippines, these changes are part of its bigger plan to expand and have a stronger presence in the local automotive scene.
