PGA Cars, Inc. put the spotlight on the Audi Philippines’ newest offering – the A6 2.0 TFSI equipped with a mild hybrid electric vehicle system. The model fills the gap between its A5 and A8 and is classified as a large size sedan.
The exterior is made up of modern design elements from Audi. You have the enlarged grille surrounded by a pair of LED cluster headlights and DRLS. The styling is undoubtedly Audi, with its curves and haunches that flow smoothly and straightforwardly through the rest of the body.
The side profile is made more prominent because of the 20-inch wheels available in a monotone or two-tone finish. The scale of these alloys makes the vehicle look more proportional, given that it is quite long, to begin with.
The rear features a set of OLED taillights with dynamic indicators. Simply put, the indicators, when active will streak across the cluster in order to indicate where the driver intends to go.
While it’s subdued on the outside, the inside is where the size becomes more relevant. The interior is clad in leather and has Audi’s virtual cockpit system in the gauge cluster. No mechanical gauges can be seen here, just a giant screen that displays everything that you may need to know. The centerpiece of the A6’s dashboard is the two screens embedded. One is a 10.1-inch display for infotainment, and the other is a 8.6-inch touch screen for climate control. Rear legroom is generous with the Audi A6. You get quite a lot of space along with climate control buttons for the passengers at the back. There are also privacy shades for more discretion.
The engine is a 2.0L TFSI unit pushing 200 hp with 370 Nm of torque. It is the same engine that can also be found in the brand’s Q7. Acceleration from 0-100km/h takes only 6.5 seconds. This engine is also paired to a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch. Because it is a mild hybrid electric vehicle, Audi has reported a fuel economy rating of 16.7 kmLl. The brand disclaims this figure by stating that the numbers may vary depending on the driving style.
Audi has a winner on its hands, and to those of you who’d love to drive home the 2019 IIHS USA Top safety pick, 2019 Car and Driver Editor’s Choice Award winner, with the 2019 international engine of the year, then the Audi A6 will be the prime choice.
