Ssangyong Philippines, together with Changan Philippines, sets up a new joint dealership in Otis Manila. This serves as the dual brand's entry into the Manila area. The Autohub Group owns the dealership itself while the distributorship duties are placed under Berjaya Auto Philippines Inc.
The Korean SUV specialist SsangYong brings a fleet of crossovers and SUVs into the country that offer excellent value for money, as well as features and handling. These high-riders also come in small-displacement gasoline or turbo-diesel power plants perfect for those who want to be thrifty on fuel. Pricing for the most affordable model in the Korean automaker's lineup starts at P1,080,000. With the Tivoli Sport R Automatic. This makes the crossover one of the most affordable in its segment.
Changan, on the other hand, offers buyers a 7-seater MPV called the Honor S priced at P585,000. It has the distinction of being the only one in its class that has dual sliding doors. The X5, on the other hand, gives buyers the option of a bigger cargo hauler.
The Otis dealership is just the start as AutoAsia plans to have more dealerships in the country in 2020. For the first quarter of that year, the company under Berjaya Auto Philippines Inc. plans to expand to five new locations. The first is Butuan, followed by General Santos, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and Negros. The expansion into the Negros will be the 7th area of expansion for the company. Its first dealership is in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
To celebrate the occasion Ssangyong and Changan took all who attended the dealership launch to Paco Cemetery to showcase the Tivoli, Musso Grand, and Changan Honor S. The theme of the photoshoot revolved around Korea and China in Manila. Another announcement from the launch was that there would be a limited edition launch variant of the Tivoli. It has the distinction of sporting a roof wrap with Korean oriented design.
