For the last 120 hours, we‘ve published a number of automotive-related news from local and international. In case you’ve missed them, here’s a rundown of some of the notable news since January 9.

Honda sets highest sales record in 2016

2016 is a notable year for Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) as it declares its highest sales performance with 23,199 vehicles sold. This amounts to 20% growth compared to the 19,315 total sales in 2015.

The greatest contributors of which are the all-new BR-V, Civic, and the City. Among the 2,000 reservations for the BR-V, 717 units have been delivered upon availability. The Civic and the City, on the other hand, sold a total of 11,413 units for 2016.

Cavite Number Coding dry run begins today

A number coding scheme for Cavite will be implemented on February 1, 2017. However, the dry run has started last January 9, 2017 to determine any possible problems that may arise and address it before the actual implementation.

The said scheme will be almost the same as what’s in Metro Manila – plates ending in 1 & 2 will be banned during Mondays, 3 & 4 on Tuesdays, 5 & 6 for Wednesdays, 7 & 8 during Thursdays, and 9 & 0 on Fridays. However, the implementation schedule is different, which will be from Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Subaru holds ASEAN debut for 2017 Impreza

The all-new Subaru Impreza finally completed its life cycle with the ASEAN launch of its next-generation model in Singapore. It’s the first Subaru to be using the brand’s new Global Platform, which enhances the vehicle’s overall driving performance and safety.

It is scheduled to make its Philippine debut at the Manila International Auto Show by the end of March, with a price tag of P1,380,000. 

NAIAS 2017: Kia Stinger makes world debut

An all-new GT model makes it mark for Kia – the Stinger. It was unveiled at the 2017 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and was based on the GT Concept car of the South Korean marque that was launched more than 5 years ago. It’s available in 2 engine variants: 2.0L turbocharged Theta-II engine that produces 255 hp and a 365 hp V6 3.3L Lambda II engine.

The Stinger has an imposing aggressive design that can go head-to-head against its European sedan competitors like Audi A4, BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, and Mercedes CLS-Class.
