FOTON PH joined Department of Education’s 2016 Brigada Eskwela for the 3rd consecutive year. Through the company’s Total Care program, FOTON employees and executives helped by reconstructing and cleaning up 2 schools – Andres Mariano Elementary School in Bagbaguin, Valenzuela and Pacondo Elementary School in Angeles, Pampanga. The adopted educational institutions were rehabilitated in order for the students to have a good learning environment. This includes repair and repainting of gutters, classroom walls, black boards, tables, and chairs. The company also conducted 2016 Oplan Balik Eskwela for the 2nd consecutive year. It’s a program wherein FOTON employees’ children in primary schools are given school supplies.

In other local news, Volkswagen BGC has launched the V by Ilustrado Café & Lounge, enhancing its overall customer showroom experience. The “in-store” cafe and lounge concept was born from the business partnership between Volkswagen and Ilustrado. The cafe is open from 8 am to 8 pm every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday while store hours will be from 8 am to 10 pm every Friday and Saturday.
Foreign News Recap

Toyota has revealed the 2017 Corolla in Russia. It features a redesigned front, an improved rear styling, and a refreshed interior. The Russian-spec Corolla is said to be powered either by a 1.4L diesel or by a 1.8L gasoline engine. The engines are mated to either a CVT or a 6-speed manual transmission. Locally, the 2017 Corolla could make its Philippine debut late this year.

The recently-concluded 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours race in France was a historic moment for Ford as the latest GT took home the LM GTE Pro category title – a hard-fought victory that came exactly 50 years after the legendary GT40’s 1966 win. Ford fielded 4 cars with 3 drivers each in the said racing event. Of the 4 cars, the No. 68 Ford GT emerged as the the overall winner of the LM GTE Pro category. It was driven by Sébastien Bourdais, Joey Hand, and Dirk Müller.
