Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) announced the arrival of the 2016 Civic. The all-new Civic was first launched last April 2016 and was positively received by the local market. As a testament, HCPI claims that they were able to receive more than 1,200 reservations for the 2016 Civic. In case you’re wondering, this is the 10th generation model of the Civic. Locally, it is available in either 1.8 E variant for P1,088,000 or 1.5 RS Turbo variant which is priced at P1,398,000.

On the other hand, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) celebrated their 600,000th unit production milestone. The tally was based on the combined outputs from their former assembly plant in Cainta, Rizal and their current facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. As of this writing, MMPC is the country’s second biggest automotive manufacturer.

Volkswagen has introduced a new vehicle that has a hashtag on its official name. Dubbed as the #PinkBeetle, it is a Beetle that comes with a “Fresh Fuchsia Metallic” paint and will be available in coupe and convertible variants. The vehicle’s exterior has gloss black mirror caps and running boards. It also has Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, and LED taillights. Although, Volkswagen Philippines has yet to announce if they would bring the #PinkBeetle over.

Ford’s 1.0L EcoBoost engine has once again earned the “Best Engine Under 1.0L” award at the 2016 International Engine of the Year Awards. This is the 5th consecutive time that Ford’s 1.0L EcoBoost was recognized as the best engine under 1.0L. The panel of 65 automotive journalists from 31 countries praised the engine's drivability, performance, economy, refinement, and technology. It bested other entries from Volkswagen, BMW, and GM. A total of 11 Ford models (including the Fiesta, Focus, and EcoSport) are equipped with this award-winning engine.
