Ford PH introduces Ranger FX4
Ford Philippines has introduced the Ranger FX4. It's based on the XLT variant, albeit, with a bolder and meaner styling. Under its hood is a 2.2L Duratorq diesel engine that delivers 160 hp and 385 Nm of torque. It’s then mated to either 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The Ranger FX4 is available in Cool White, Aluminum Metallic, Meteor Grey, and Jet Black. The manual variant sells at P1,299,000, while the automatic has a price tag of P1,359,000.
2017 Chevrolet Trailblazer now available in PH
Chevrolet Philippines looks to shake up the local SUV segment as the announced that the 2017 Trailblazer is now available in the country. The new Trailblazer comes with a restyled fascia and a refreshed interior. It is still powered either by 2.8L Duramax or 2.5L diesel engines. The former delivers 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque, while the latter produces 163 hp and 380 Nm. The 2.5L variant is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while the 2.8L models are connected to a 6-speed automatic.
The new Trailblazer is available in 3 variants: 2.8L Z71 AT (P 1,881,888), 2.8L LT AT (P 1,509,888), and 2.5L LT MT (P 1,378,888).
Audi PH brings in lighter, faster all-new R8 V10 Plus
The all-new R8 V10 Plus is now in the Philippines. It looks more aggressive and powerful than its predecessor, while shedding weight for better performance. The all-new R8 is equipped with a 5.2L V10 engine that churns out 610 hp and 560 Nm of torque. Audi claims that the R8 can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. Other than being the faster R8, the all-new model is also 118 kg lighter than its predecessor.

All-new Kia Rio hatchback makes world debut
Kia has debuted the all-new Rio hatchback at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. It is longer, wider as compared to its predecessor and features a new exterior as well as an updated interior. The all-new Rio’s exterior is characterized by straight lines which makes the vehicle look more composed.
However, Kia has yet to announce the powertrain details of the all-new Rio but they did say that it will be powered by a range of gasoline and diesel engines.
We have yet to hear from Kia Philippines as to when would they locally launch the all-new Rio.
Peugeot unveils the new 3008 compact SUV
Peugeot has unveiled the new 3008 at this year’s Paris Motor Show. Previously an MPV-like crossover, it’s now listed as a compact SUV and comes with a new muscular look and the latest i-Cockpit interior layout. According to Peugeot, the 3008 will have be available with 6 engine options (2 gasoline and 4 diesel).
There will be a choice of 2 powerplants for the gasoline range - the 1.2L 130 hp PureTech and the 1.6L 165 hp THP powerplants. These can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
On the other hand, the diesel engine will have 4 options available - 1.6L 100 hp BlueHDi, 1.6L 120 hp BlueHDi, 2.0L 150 hp BlueHDi, and 2.0L 180 hp BlueHDi. These engine variants will be paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
As for its availability, Peugeot Philippines has yet to announce if the new 3008 will be available here anytime soon.
