BAIC Philippines is having a pretty solid year, and they have the numbers to show for it. Carrying forward the momentum it built throughout 2025, the brand has continued to make noise in the local market in 2026, backed by a wider dealer network, a growing product lineup, and what appears to be a change in how Filipino car buyers are thinking about their next vehicle.
Through the first five months of the year, BAIC Philippines posted a 10% sales increase compared to the same period last year. What's driving the numbers? Electric and hybrid vehicles, mostly. New energy models accounted for 93% of BAIC's total sales during the period, which says a lot about where Filipino buyer preferences are heading. Surprising, considering it wasn't long ago that EVs were still being treated with a fair amount of skepticism in this market.
The B30e Dune continues to be the brand's workhorse, making up 69 percent of total sales on its own. Its appeal comes from a package of efficiency and practicality in a form that works for everyday Filipino driving conditions, whether that's navigating city traffic or handling longer out of town runs. Right behind it is the B60 Beaumont series, which contributed 18 percent to total sales and further cemented BAIC's foothold in the electrified SUV space.
Then there's the B40e Trailmaster rEV, the newest addition to the lineup. It sold out within its first month on the market, which is a strong signal that buyers are increasingly open to electrified vehicles for off-road use. Off-road capable and electrified in the same package isn't exactly a common combination in this segment, but BAIC’s numbers say there’s at least a growing appetite for them.
Furthermore, BAIC also put up notable numbers at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show, recording a sales increase of over 35 percent compared to its last MIAS appearance.
If you didn’t already know, the brand operates under UAAGI Auto Inc., part of the broader UAAGI Auto Group, which currently supports BAIC through a network of 17 dealerships across the country. Aftersales infrastructure is strong as well, with trained technicians, parts availability, and service support being positioned as key components of the ownership experience.
For a brand still relatively young in the Philippine market, the groundwork being laid here matters. Sales figures are one thing, but long-term viability in this market depends heavily on how well a brand can support its customers after the purchase. BAIC and UAAGI appear to be aware of that.
