The recent and still ongoing pandemic has hampered many car companies in the Philippines. Schedule launches have been delayed or moved online. One such brand adapting to the “new normal” is BMW Philippines. Despite the current situation, the German brand has launched a handful of new models into the country. These new models are the 520i Sport, X3 xDrive20d Business, and the Z4 M40i Frozen Edition.
Starting with the longest name first, the X3 xDrive20d Business line comes into the Philippine market with new aluminum exterior accents and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels. Color choices for the German crossover come in Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, and Sophisto Grey. Interior wise the vehicle comes with “Vernasca” upholstery and comes standard with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto as standard. BMW Live Cockpit plus is also available in the X3. Powering the European crossover is a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine. The motor produces 187 hp and 400 Nm of torque.
Up next is the 5 series 520i Sport. It comes to the Philippine market with new gloss black exterior accents and in the following color options: Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Meditteranean Blue, and Sophisto Grey. On the inside, the luxury sedan comes standard with “Dakota” upholstery, Apple CarPlay, and BMW Live Cockpit Plus. Sorry android users there isn't Android Auto support for the vehicle. Powering the German sedan is a 2.0-liter TwinPower motor that produces 181hp and 290 Nm of torque.
Rounding out the new BMW vehicles in the Philippines is the cousin of the Toyota Supra the Z4 M40i Frozen Edition. No, there will not be any Disney themed accessories, however, the convertible will be coming with a special paint scheme called Frozen Grey II Individual. Under the hood, the Z4 M40i now packs a powerful six-cylinder engine that makes 381hp and 500 Nm of torque. The new motor gives the vehicle a significant bump in terms of horsepower as it now makes 47 hp more than it did before.
