To ease the expected heavy traffic flow during the Christmas season, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will open the Bonifacio Naval Station to motorists who wishes to bypass Lawton Avenue.
According to a report by Interaksyon, motorists from Villamor Airbase in Pasay City that are going to Bonifacio Global City (and vice versa) will be able to pass through Bonifacio Naval Station to avoid the congested traffic flow in Lawton Avenue.
However, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Tim Orbos said that motorists should secure stickers or pass cards in order to be able to use the said route.
On the other hand, vehicles coming from Katipunan Avenue that are bound to EDSA or C5 (and vice versa) can now pass through Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
Those who are going to EDSA can enter in Gate 6 in Boni Serrano and exit in Gate 3 in EDSA-Santolan (and vice versa). On the other hand, C5-bound motorists can also take Gate 6 and then exit in Gate 5 along White Plains Avenue.
Stickers and pass cards are likewise needed to be secured in order to go through the said route. In order to apply for the passes, application forms are available at the MMDA main office in Makati City. Both alternate routes are just temporary and will be open until January 2017 only.
We tried calling MMDA, Camp Aguinaldo, and Bonifacio Naval Station to confirm the price of the stickers but we’re not able to go through their hotlines.
