BYD Cars Philippines officially launches the all-new Sealion 7

It’s the brand’s first performance-focused crossover for the market.

ACMobility, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in the Philippines, has officially launched the all-new Sealion 7, the brand's first fully electric performance crossover in the local market. The reveal took place on May 28, 2026, at the Glorietta 4 Activity Center in Makati City, as the headline act of BYD's Tech Tour event running until May 31.

The Sealion 7 slots above the Sealion 6 in BYD's local crossover lineup and represents a clear shift in ambition for the brand. Whereas previous models led with value and efficiency, this one leads with performance, and boy does it have the numbers to back it up.

BYD Cars Philippines is offering the Sealion 7 in a single configuration: the AWD Performance. A dual-motor setup, 160 kW upfront and 230 kW at the rear, combines for 390 kW or around 523 hp and 690 Nm of torque, enough to dispatch the zero to100 km/h sprint in just 4.5 seconds and push on to a top speed of 215 km/h.

Energy comes from BYD's 82.56 kWh Blade Battery, good for up to 542 km on the NEDC cycle and 456 km on the WLTP standard. Charging tops out at 150 kW DC via CCS 2, with an 11 kW AC Type 2 port for home use. A V2L function with discharge adapter is also included, handy for powering devices when you're off the grid.

Moving towards the exterior, the Sealion 7's fastback-style roofline gives it a coupe-SUV silhouette that stands apart in the midsize crossover class. It measures 4,830 mm long and 1,925 mm wide on a 2,930 mm wheelbase. Electronic hidden door handles, a panoramic glass roof, a hands-free power tailgate, and full LED lighting throughout are all standard. Four exterior colors are on offer: Atlantis Gray, Aurora White, Cosmos Black, and Shark Gray.

Inside, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen anchors the dashboard alongside a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a Windshield HUD. A DYNAUDIO 12-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, and automatic dual-zone climate control with a CN95-grade air filtration system are all standard on the Sealion 7.

Performance may be the focus but the Sealion 7 isn’t just about speed, safety equipment also comes plenty with six airbags, Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Assist, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a full suite of cross-traffic alerts and warnings make the Sealion 7 one of the more comprehensively equipped EVs in its class.

As for the price, BYD Cars Philippines pegs the Sealion’s SRP at P2,588,000 for the sole variant.
