Changan Motor Philippines Inc. has made its entry to the subcompact crossover segment with the CS35 Plus. This vehicle cleverly combines looks with good amount features, and performance at an affordable price tag.
Starting on the outside, the Changan CS35 Plus flaunts its boxy dimension that’s further emphasized by the well-planted character lines. Upfront, its lighting system is composed of halogen projector units, along with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), and fog lamps. Going over the side, you’ll notice the LED turn signals integrated on its side mirrors, as for its shoes, the CS35 Plus gets 18-inch alloys.
As for the rear, it’s got LED taillights along with a third brake that’s integrated on the spoiler. Additionally, it also comes with a rear fog light for that added illumination when crossing through darker roads. Color options include White, Gray, Brown, Red, and Blue.
Open its doors and the Changan CS35 Plus will greet you with a well laid out cabin. Probably the main highlight of its interior is the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s paired with a 6-speaker sound system. Other features include leather upholstered seats, automatic climate control, rear air conditioning vents, a push start button along with smart keyless entry, and the large panoramic sunroof.
This subcompact crossover is run by a small yet mighty 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that is able to produce 156 hp and 235 Nm of torque. The said mill is then paired with a 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).
As for safety and security features six airbags, Hill Descent Control (HDC), Hill Hold Control (HHC), Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Parking Brake, and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). Other complementary equipment include parking sensors, a reversing camera, and speed-sensing door locks.
Interested buyers will be glad to know that the Changan CS35 Plus is available with an introductory rate of P999,000 for its sole 1.4-liter 7-speed DCT variant, which is to be originally priced at P1,069,000.
