Chery Behind The Scenes program

Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) recently gave members of the Chery Car Club a closer look at what goes on after a vehicle leaves the showroom through its Behind The Scenes (BTS) event. Organized by the brand’s Aftersales team, the activity highlighted the people, processes, and checks involved in supporting customers throughout their ownership journey.

Rather than simply discussing aftersales support, the event allowed participants to take part in several activities normally handled by service personnel. Chery Car Club members went through basic vehicle care sessions, including inspections of key vehicle components, identifying concerns that may require professional attention, and changing a spare tire. The hands-on approach gave owners practical knowledge that could prove useful during everyday driving and unexpected situations on the road.

Participants also got an inside look at how spare parts are handled, from ordering to release. At the Chery Parts Warehouse, members were guided through the process of requesting and personally picking up parts. The warehouse team demonstrated the checks performed before release, including verifying the correct components and quantities while making sure the parts were free from damage.

Feedback from attendees suggested the format struck a chord. Atty. Jun Isidro, who owns a Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid, said the event stood out from typical brand gatherings because it put a spotlight on the people working behind the scenes, not just the vehicles themselves. Tiggo rEV owner William Bacal admitted he'd heard rumors about parts shortages and long wait times, but seeing the warehouse operation in person changed his outlook entirely.

According to UAAGI Auto Group VP for Aftersales Lito Landicho, the BTS program is intended to make aftersales more transparent while giving customers a better understanding of the work involved in supporting them.

“Aftersales is an important part of the Chery ownership experience, and we want our customers to see what happens behind the scenes to support them throughout their journey. Through the BTS program, we are giving our customers a better understanding of the processes and people behind our aftersales operations while equipping them with practical knowledge they can use as vehicle owners.”

The initiative comes as Chery continues to promote its hybrid and electric vehicle lineup in the Philippines alongside its aftersales network. CAP currently offers a warranty of up to seven years or 200,000 km, whichever comes first, while its PHEV model gets an eight-year or 160,000-km warranty for its high-voltage battery. Three years of roadside assistance is also included.

Through activities such as Behind The Scenes, Chery and UAAGI Auto Group are putting more focus on the ownership experience beyond the initial vehicle purchase. The program gives customers a clearer view of the work taking place behind the scenes while reinforcing the role of aftersales support throughout the life of their vehicles.
