Toyota Philippines has confirmed that the refreshed Toyota Wigo will be launching on June 15, 2020, at 4:30 pm. The Japanese automotive brand will be unveiling the updated small hatchback via two mediums for its first online launch event. Toyota Philippines has chosen Facebook and Youtube to be its platforms to broadcast the event to better reach out to the public. Ben and Ben will also be present at the event to serve as the live musical guests.
The refreshed Toyota Wigo will now come with a more aggressive-looking face thanks to a more angular front bumper and sharper-looking foglight housings. The refreshed small Toyota hatchback will also come with a new variant in the form of the TRD-S. The new range-topping variant will be replacing the old TRD trim-level. The new top-of-the-line trim-level will now give the Wigo a new body kit as well as new technology features and a new set of wheels. Overall the interior of the hatchback will remain familiar apart from a couple of upgrades done to the gauge cluster.
The small Toyota hatchback will now come with a 7-inch infotainment system that will come with a voice command option as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities for the TRD-S variant. The 7-inch infotainment will be standard for the G variant while the lower E variant will be getting a standard 2-DIN head unit instead. The range-topping trim-level will also get a new digital video recorder as standard as well.
Powering the refreshed Wigo is the same 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with the same transmission options. The small hatchback can still be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Pricing
There is no official pricing yet for the refreshed Toyota Wigo, however, there are rough estimates that have been circulating around the internet pricing the small hatchback at P535,000 for the E variant and P700,000 for the TRD-S variant.
