ACMobility, the mobility arm of Ayala, added a new EV charging site in Lucena City. It’s located inside PTT Lucena across the Lucena City Government Complex. The goal is to make it easier for EV users to travel longer distances by connecting routes from South Luzon to Bicol.
Before this, taking an EV from Metro Manila to Bicol was hard since the trip runs about 450 to 500 km with few charging stops in between. With this new location, drivers have a safer and more reliable place to charge during their trip south.
Charging stations are also being added across Luzon, helping more EV users travel farther without worry. The Lucena site is near food stops and stores, so it’s a practical rest stop too.
The Lucena site includes a 120 kW DC fast charger with two ports and a 22 kW AC charger with one port. Soon, ACMobility will install two more AC chargers at Giant Lucena, along Evo Tourism Road, to serve even more users.
All the chargers are connected to the Evro app, which lets users check if a charger is available, find the nearest site, and pay through their phone.
The site is also ready for future public transport needs like e-jeepneys and electric fleet vehicles.
The new station is also part of Lucena City’s push for better and cleaner transport. Since it’s close to the new city hall, it gives government staff and residents a nearby option for EV charging. More chargers are also expected in other city-owned spaces to help more people shift to electric vehicles.
Lucena City shared that the station plays an important role in helping travelers reach Bicol more easily and supports their ongoing plans for cleaner transportation options.
ACMobility also said this new site is part of their work to expand the Philippine EV Spine, which is the country’s largest EV charging network. Their goal is to make charging accessible along highways, cities, and key stops across the country. They shared that each new station helps give EV users more freedom to travel and removes the fear of running out of charge on the road.
As ACMobility’s charging spine grows, EV ownership is getting easier. If you’re considering driving an EV yourself, check out the Electric Vehicle Car Guide on AutoDeal.com.ph.
