The Mitsubishi Montero Sport arrived sooner than expected. Jom Robles, on the Mitsubishi Montero Sport (MMS) Nation Facebook group, spotted a delivery truck in SLEX transporting units of the newly-facelifted midsize SUV. The netizen was able to capture these images – all of which he posted online for Montero Sport enthusiasts to see.
Accompanying the Facebook post were a few mentions on pricing. While we cannot yet confirm with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation if these figures are correct, we’ll mention them anyway. The 4x2 GLS variant supposedly will retail for P1,769,000, and the 4x2 GT variant will run you a sum of P1,996,000. The GLS Premium variant is getting replaced by the 4x2 GT, which explains the similarity of pricing. According to one of the Facebook group’s admins, the supposed release date of the model will be September 20, 2019. No confirmation from MMPC has been made just yet.

Thailand was the first country to debut the Montero Sport, under the region-specific nameplate: the Pajero Sport. The model comes with various updates thanks to its facelift. It looks like what updates happened in Thailand, are also updates that we will be receiving here in the Philippines.
The design is relatively unchanged, save for a few improvements to the front fascia, and the reduced taillight design that looks chunkier and beefier than before. This is a facelift that addressed many concerns and gripes that the public had pertaining to the looks of the pre-facelift model.
We don’t know what the interior of our local models will have, but Thai models feature a few updates and a brand new all-digital cluster together with smartphone tech.
The engine remains the same in Thailand, a 2.4L diesel motor with 178 hp and 430 Nm of torque found in its pre-facelift form.
We are still confirming whether the September 20 release date is legitimate. We'll also post updates once we can officially confirm pricing, specs, and variants as soon as possible.
