After a whirlwind of 6 launches back in 2020, Toyota Philippines is kicking off 2021 with the unveiling of the updated Toyota Innova. The facelifted model already made its debut in the ASEAN region back in October of 2020 and featured an evolutionary design. It was first officially launched in Indonesia and is now set to enter the local automotive market featuring an updated exterior look.
The refreshed Toyota Innova most notably comes with a redesigned front which now features a new bumper design that gives more emphasis on the corners of the MPV. Other changes to the vehicle include the repositioning of the foglights to the lower bumper, as well as a change in the signal light design to a vertical layout. Toyota has also given the MPV a new set of wheels and a new garnish on the tailgate of the vehicle. Still unconfirmed, the headlights may also receive an update featuring a new blacked-out design similar to what is available in other markets.
On the inside, the updated Toyota Innova should remain the same as the pre-facelifted model carrying over the same interior layout, save for minor changes in materials. The Japanese brand has yet to confirm if the infotainment system has been upgraded to one that will feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, it is still a possibility given that the Toyota Fortuner recently got this feature for its refresh.
As for power, the Toyota Innova is expected to retain its current lineup of diesel engines and is rumored to drop its gasoline variants. Engine outputs are also expected to be the same with the 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine outputting 171hp and 380 Nm of torque. Transmission options are also expected to be carried over from the pre-facelifted model with a 6-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual still being available.
