The refreshed 2023 Kia Seltos is reportedly close to making its global debut. Reports out of India have indicated that Kia is preparing to launch the subcompact crossover at the 2023 Auto Expo in January.
In terms of design, the Seltos will likely exhibit Kia’s latest design language as seen on the Carens MPV. These include a new front fascia complete with a fresh grille design, an updated bumper, and new LED headlights with integrated DRLs. Kia is also putting its emblem on the grille this time instead of the hood.
Other notable exterior features include new LED taillights, new alloy wheels, and an updated tailgate design with a new lower bumper. The new Seltos is also expected to come with a panoramic sunroof, at least in some versions.
The crossover’s underpinnings are not expected to change significantly. However, a mild hybrid powertrain option is reportedly in the cards for the Indian market. Could a hybrid Seltos find its way to the Philippines? It’s certainly an intriguing proposition.
In any case, the Seltos will also likely add new tech features such as a fully digital instrument display sourced from the Kia Forte. It’s also expected to add an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) to make it better suited for the modern scene. It’s currently unclear whether Kia DriveWise, the brand’s latest autonomous driving and parking assistance suite, will be present in the new Seltos.
If you can’t wait for the facelifted Kia Seltos, the current-spec model is still available in the Philippines. It features a bevy of modern amenities, including all-LED lighting and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Kia Seltos starts at P1,160,000.
