A facelifted Ford EcoSport has been spotted roaming around Indian roads, with the small crossover having minor exterior revisions. The following photos were taken by the Indian-based website, Rushlane.
Its first-generation model has been around the market for quite some time now, and it looks like we’re not yet gonna see an all-new EcoSport anytime soon. Instead, the Blue Oval will release another refreshed model of the subcompact crossover.
Based on the Spy Photos, the exterior still carries a familiar shape, though there are some notable changes. The following include its larger grille, which now sports a new pattern with a blacked-out color scheme, a revised front bumper with fog lamps along with a new strip of LED lighting, and a new set of five-spoked alloy wheels.
The rest of the vehicle remains as is, with the rear still getting the same set of taillights, bumper, and rear-mounted spare tire. Exterior-wise, nothing much has changed granted that this is just another refreshed model.
No interior shots were provided, though it could most likely come with the familiar layout from the outgoing model. Presumably, it will also carry over some of its convenience features such as the leather upholstery, the available sunroof, and the SYNC 3 infotainment system.
As expected, no official powertrain details were disclosed yet. However, given that this is just another facelift, the new Ford EcoSport could still have 2 familiar engine options. Namely, the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine that puts out 121 hp and 150 Nm of torque, and the smaller yet peppier 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine that churns out 123 hp and 170 Nm of torque. If it reaches the Philippine market soon, the 1.5-liter motor could be the only one available with a manual option while the 1.0-liter EcoBoost will solely be paired with an automatic gearbox.
If the pandemic situation permits, the refreshed Ford EcoSport is expected to make its Indian debut later this year. Perhaps, other international markets, including the Philippines, will get the new model sometime in 2022.
