Ford Philippines stays true to its commitment of delivering the importance of social responsibility and volunteerism. In partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK), the American carmaker helped in the construction of new communal water facilities in GK Cabulacan in Sta.Catalina, Negros Oriental, GK Camposano in Brgy. Tabu in Dulag, Leyte, and GK Formoso in San Jose, Nueva Ecija. The project was for the benefit of over 170 families residing in remote areas, giving them access to safe, clean, and potable water.
Since the blue oval brand also promotes employee volunteerism, dealer employees from Ford Dumaguete, Ford Tacloban, and Ford Cabanatuan dedicated a total number of 320 hours to this community involvement.
“We’re very happy to see the completion of the new water facilities in these GK sites that will provide families access to clean water. At Ford, we remain committed to help make a difference in the communities we serve with our continued efforts and initiatives to uplift the lives of those in need.”
This construction of communal water system was made possible when Ford Fund through Global Giving had mini-grants available for projects. That said, a total of US$15,000 Global Giving grant supported this project of three water facilities.
Since 2014, Ford PH has built a total of fourteen water facilities in the Luzon and Visayas regions, providing at least 1,000 families a stable and sustainable water source.
