The all-new Ford Ranger is almost upon us. We’ve been watching this next-generation pickup truck for quite some time now, and while the model has launched in markets like Thailand and Australia, its release window in the Philippines has been a bit vague.
Ford Philippines previously confirmed its arrival within 2022, but they have narrowed it down even further. The company’s managing director, Michael Breen, shared during last night’s 21st Henry Ford Awards (HFA) that the next-gen Ranger is arriving in the third quarter of this year.
It’s exciting news for Ford fans who have been waiting for news on this new pickup truck. Other details remain scarce, but we should find out more about the new model as it inches closer towards its launch date.
What we do know about the all-new Ranger is that it features a brand new design featuring a bolder grille with C-clamp headlamps. It’s also been redesigned to accommodate a 50mm increase in both the track and wheelbase. The reimagined Ranger truck bed also provides added utility and convenience for owners.
As for engine options, the all-new Ranger will likely keep the 2.0-liter single turbo and Bi-Turbo diesel engine options found in the current-spec models, but this has yet to be confirmed. We know many are expecting the 3.0-liter V6 model in our market, but don’t get your hopes up just yet. On the tech side, the Ranger will most likely be available with either a 10.1-inch or 12-inch vertical SYNC 4 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
So, the next-gen Ford Ranger is arriving in the third quarter of 2022. Could Ford Philippines be targeting the returning Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) for the Ranger’s launch? It’s possible, but until it comes from the company itself, we can only speculate.
