Finally, after months of waiting. Ford Philippines has finally introduced the highly anticipated Ford Performance all-new Ranger Raptor to the market.
By now, you've probably already caught a glimpse of this magnificent pick-up truck in pictures. It boasts the unmistakable Raptor-inspired design, featuring the iconic embossed Ford logo on the grille, muscular fenders, thick bash plates, aluminum side steps which acts as rock rails, chunky 33-inch BF Goodrich KO2 baja specific tires, and of course a full 2.5-inch FOX suspension. It's everything you would expect from a true Raptor model engineered to run through the Baja desert with ease.
You also get Adaptive Matrix LED lighting, sockets in the trunk bed, and a Terrain Management System with selectable drive modes that allows you to change the Ranger Raptor’s vehicle behavior on the fly, depending on the situation.
Under the hood, the Ranger Raptor is equipped with a formidable 2.0-liter Bi-turbo diesel engine. This powerhouse generates an impressive output of 207 hp and 500 Nm of torque, all seamlessly managed by a 10-speed automatic transmission. While some may lament the absence of the 400-horsepower V6 option, we have come to terms with this and moved past the initial disappointment.
Inside the Ranger Raptor, you get a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster with specialized Raptor graphics, 12-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay mated to a six-speaker audio system, Dual-zone climate control, unique Raptor-styled seats that are 10-way power-adjustable, and of course Magnesium paddle shifters
Of course, with Ford’s emphasis on safety, the Ranger Raptor also has a suite of safety features via its Advanced Driver Assist Technology which sports Adaptive Cruise Control with lane centering, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection, Pre-Collision Assist, Dynamic Brake Support, Forward Collision Warning, Evasive Steer Assist, among others.
The all-new Ranger Raptor enters the market with a price tag of P2,339,000, accompanied by a comprehensive five-year warranty for added peace of mind, and is available in five color options, namely, Code Orange, Arctic White, Absolute Black, Blue Lightning, and Conquer Gray. So, what do you think? Does this pickup truck live up to your expectations? Has it been worth the wait?
