Ford Philippines has finished 2021 strong with great sales figures as the automotive brand was able to see a 35 percent growth in sales compared to last year. The Blue Oval saw 20,008 units sold in 2021 with most of these being comprised of the Ford Ranger and the Ford Territory.
The Ford Ranger was the brand’s top-selling vehicle with the pickup truck garnering a total of 9,184 units sold. It was also the best-selling 4x4 pickup truck in the Philippine market last year with 5,490 units sold which was led by the Ranger Raptor. Altogether the American pickup truck was able to get a market share of 36 percent for the 4x4 pickup truck segment.
The stellar sales figures for the 4x4 segment can also be attributed to the brand’s expansion of its off-road read vehicles. Examples of these are the Ford Ranger FX4 MAX and the limited-edition Raptor X models complementing the diverse needs and lifestyles of the American automaker’s local customer base.
The Ford Ranger drove our strong retail performance last year as we continue to offer a pickup truck that is tough, capable, and versatile. We also strengthened our connection with our customers through ‘Live the Ranger Life’, which showcased how the Ford Ranger enables their needs, passions, and goals in life.
Aside from the capable Ranger, the Ford Territory also sold well for the Blue Oval. According to Ford, it was the country’s best-selling small SUV in 2021 with full-year retail sales of 6,881 units. This represents a 55 percent market share for the Territory in its segment. The small SUV also celebrated several achievements as well celebrating its 5,000 customer milestone in June of 2021 and its 8,000 customer milestone in November of last year as well.
With great sales accomplished last year, it looks the automaker looks to be bringing that momentum with them for 2022 with new plans and hopefully new models to launch soon on the horizon.
