Ford Territory Hybrid cruises to the top of the Philippines' small utility hybrid segment

The Ford Territory Hybrid has officially claimed the top spot in small utility hybrid vehicle sales in the Philippines, based on fresh data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) covering the first five months of 2026. From January to May, the Territory Hybrid moved 2,226 units, putting it more than 500 units ahead of the next closest hybrid on the CAMPI sales chart.

To put the numbers in perspective, the Territory Hybrid only launched in August 2025. It hit the 1,000-unit mark in just over three months and closed out its debut year with 1,645 units sold. That's a pretty strong start for any nameplate, hybrid or otherwise, and the momentum has clearly continued well into this year.

The Territory Hybrid runs a 1.5-liter inline-4 Dedicated Hybrid Engine mated to a 2-Speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and a 1.83kWh Lithium-Ion NCM high-voltage battery. Combined output figures are 150PS and 230Nm on the engine side, with the electric motor pushing an additional 218PS and 315Nm. The system operates across four modes: EV, Series, Parallel, and Energy Recovery, which helps optimize efficiency depending on driving conditions.

Ford quotes fuel economy at 19.6 km/L with a range of up to 1,000 kilometers on a full tank. In the Department of Energy's 2025 Fuel Eco-Run, it returned an even more impressive 23.71 km/L, suggesting real-world frugality that should resonate well with Metro Manila commuters dealing with daily gridlock.

Three drive modes are available: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Steering feel is also adjustable through Comfort, Normal, and Sport settings, which can either follow the selected drive mode automatically or be set manually through the shortcut screen.

Simoes noted that the goal was to bring hybrid technology to a vehicle Filipinos already know and trust. "The Territory has long been a favorite in the Philippines, and by infusing it with our global hybrid technology, we have created a vehicle that offers the perfect balance of fuel efficiency, smart technology, and effortless performance without requiring a change in driving habits."

The Territory Hybrid Trend starts at P1,399,000. For June, Ford is offering P40,000 in cash savings on the Trend or an all-in down payment of P79,000. The Titanium X variant comes with P50,000 cash savings or P89,000 all-in down payment.
