The city of Valenzuela chooses Foton commercial vehicles in order to serve the mobility needs of city-wide projects and programs which should build stronger and faster response capabilities throughout several barangays. This was made possible by Mayor Rex Gatchalian together with the Office of Senator Win Gatchalian.
These units are specialty vehicle trucks, a utility truck for the delivery of relief goods and an animal control unit. Our strategy is to give it to the local towns so they can render faster service to the people.
A total of 61 units were turned over to Mayor Rex and Senator Win at the Valenzuela City Hall grounds. These vehicles comprise of 42 Tornado 4.4C Mini Dump Truck which will be used for multi-purpose operations, and 19 Gratour Midi Trucks for animal control programs.
The Foton Gratour MT which will be utilized for animal control is motivated by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that churns out 110 hp and 142 Nm of torque. Its motor is then paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Notably, the Gratour’s compact size allows it to pass through the small streets of barangays, plus, it also complies with the Euro 5 emission standards.
I believe we are again the first city in the country to have animal control units.
As for the Tornado 4.4C Mini Dump Truck, it comes with a 3.8 Cummins Diesel Engine that puts out 154 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Essentially, this truck shall be able to deliver tons of food packs and other relief goods all thanks to its payload capacity of 4,590 kg and the 4CMB dump box.
Both of these Foton vehicles shall achieve faster services throughout several Barangays within Valenzuela City. In fact, Mayor Rex is confident in these units, with him stating that “Public service is made easier with Foton”.
