In lieu of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a silver lining for motorists in the Philippines. It was announced over the weekend that a big fuel price rollback will take into effect by March 17, 2020 for gasoline and diesel. The recent events followed by a price drop in the global market means that fuel is now more affordable amidst the community quarantine that residents of Metro Manila are experiencing.
The price decrease can be attributed to the cost of oil internationally, and it does reflect on the Philippines by a huge margin. Among the first to drop their prices, Phoenix Petroleum lowered its prices by P3.00 per liter of gasoline and diesel. Other companies like CleanFuel, Flying V, Petron, SeaOil, and Shell will all implement price drops by 6:00 am on March 17, 2020. Consumers can stand to save quite a bit of money following these prices.
Here are the fuel price changes that will take effect by Tuesday, March 17, 2020
CleanFuel
- Less P4.00 per liter of gasoline and diesel
- Less P4.50 for kerosene
Flying V
-
Less P4.00 per liter of gasoline or diesel fuels
-
Less P4.50 for kerosene
Petron
- Less P4.00 per liter of gasoline and diesel fuels
- Less P4.00 per liter of gasoline and diesel fuels
SeaOil
- Less P4.25 per liter of gasoline and diesel
-
Less P4.35 for kerosene
Shell
- Less P4.25 per liter of gasoline and diesel
- Less P4.35 per liter of kerosene
While somewhat worthwhile to gas up when prices are this low, we would like to reiterate that consumers should exercise caution when leaving their houses in order to get fuel or other supplies. it is also important to know the rules and regulations before leaving for a gas or supply run.
