Guangzhou Automobile Motor Corporation Limited (GAC Motor) is now officially in the Philippines. GAC Motor's five strong nameplates made a grand entrance in the country through the introduction of its strong lineup of cars, in the presence of the Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, President and Chairman of Legado Motor, former Governor Chavit Singson, Senate President Vicente Sotto III, along with a host of dignitaries, local and foreign celebrities, media and select guests.
Held at the Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig, Metro Manila, the grand launch of GAC Motor into the Philippine market is a big indicator of its intent to offer a unique value proposition to Filipino car buyers, thus also helping the overall growth and potential for the local automotive industry.
Chavit Singson, President and Chairman of Legado Motor Inc., the exclusive distributor of GAC Motor in the Philippines, said that the brand stands for luxurious and world class products that are affordable and aimed at providing the best buying and customer experience.
Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the guest of honor at the GAC Motor launch, also gave a short speech, highlighting that the Philippine automotive market is one of the fastest growing in Southeast Asia at a rate of 22% in the last five years. He also cited that the entry of GAC Motors will provide Philippine consumers with more choices, further driving the robust economic outlook and the demand for vehicles.
“It is indeed an honor to welcome GAC Motor to the Philippines. On behalf of the Filipino people, I’d like to thank you for your confidence in investing and expanding your business here in this country. Let me assure you that this government is doing its best to ensure a level-playing field for investors. We will continue to provide both foreign and local investors like the GAC Motor and Legado Motors with assistance they need so that their ventures may prosper and flourish.”
