The Geely Coolray is made to handle different road conditions, especially during the monsoon months. Its advanced safety systems work together to keep every drive stable, safe, and comfortable when roads are wet or flooded.
For stability, the Coolray uses Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which applies the brakes to individual wheels when it detects a loss of traction. This helps prevent skidding and keeps the vehicle steady. Its Traction Control System (TCS) also helps maintain grip on slippery surfaces by limiting wheel spin during acceleration, allowing the driver to stay in control even in heavy rain.
To help drivers stop safely, the Coolray is equipped with Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA). This system provides extra braking force during sudden stops, helping reduce braking distance and improving safety on slick roads.
Visibility is another key factor in bad weather. The Coolray’s 540° HD Panoramic System and Intelligent 4-way HD DVR provide a clear view around the car, helping drivers park or maneuver safely in tight or flooded areas. The DVR also records video automatically, which can be useful during weather-related incidents.
The Blind Spot Detection (BSD) system warns the driver when there are vehicles in blind spots, which is especially useful during heavy rain or fog. The Front Induction Type Wiper adjusts its speed based on the amount of rain, ensuring clear visibility without the driver needing to change the settings manually.
The Coolray’s High-Strength Energy-Absorbing Safety Body helps protect passengers in case of a collision. With a ground clearance of 180 mm, it can also handle shallow floods and rough roads commonly found in city driving during storms.
The Metro Manila Accident Reporting and Analysis System (MMARAS) recorded that about 15 to 20 percent of road accidents in NCR in 2024 happened between June and October, the wettest months of the year. Many of these accidents were linked to slippery roads and poor visibility, showing the importance of safety features like those found in the Coolray.
The Geely Coolray is available in four variants: 1.5L Comfort Plus (P989,000), 1.5L Premium Plus (P1,049,000), 1.5L Sport Plus (P1,149,000), and 1.5L Sport Plus (LG) (P1,179,000).
