Geely Philippines, under the Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), is bolstering the Geely Coolray’s lineup with two more variants, bringing the total number up to three. The Comfort and Premium variants slot under the top-of-the-line Coolray Sport, which was launched in the Philippines last September 2019.
SGAP and Geely made sure that all variants only slightly vary from each other, ensuring that the Coolray name still embodies high technology, modern design, and sober sophistication. Customers and fans of the Coolray were able to acquire all of these traits, but with a price tag that is within reason.
The Comfort variant of the Coolray serves as the base and most affordable variant in the lineup. Priced at P978,000, it is the only unit in the line to slot under the seven-digit mark. The engine from the higher variants can still be found in the base. The 1.5 L gasoline direct injection turbocharged engine has a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, a push start system with a remote start. The base employs all of the important aspects of the Coolray that allow it to perform as well as its expensive brothers.
One step above the Comfort variant is the Coolray Premium. It is priced at P1,088,000 and does not differ much from the Sport variant. It comes with 18-inch wheels, front air damns, rear diffuser, quad tailpipes, and a panoramic sunroof. The rear spoiler of the Premium variant is more conservative, and inside the seats come in a black PVC upholstery, a contrast to the Sport’s leather material.
The top of the line Sport variant is still an option for consumers at P1,198,000, but the new variants on offer from Geely Philippines only sweeten the deal for consumers looking to buy a subcompact crossover with the quality and refinement that is a cut above the rest, at a price that is affordable.
