Geely Philippines has encountered a lot of success over the past few years starting in 2019 with the introduction of the Geely Coolray and most recently with the introduction of the Geely Okavango. While the automaker has strong entries in both the crossover and MPV segments in the country, it has yet to enter the sedan market.
However, this will change soon as Geely Philippines has just released another short teaser video for its upcoming sedan. Photos of the vehicle have already made their way across the internet so we are pretty sure that this will be the Emgrand. What is still unknown is the pricing and the actual vehicle specifications.
According to reports, the Geely sedan will supposedly enter the market with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated motor and will be made available with a CVT. A manual transmission option might be available but this has yet to be confirmed.
As a bit of a backgrounder, the latest version of the Emgrand sedan originally made its launch in China back in August of 2021. There the fourth generation of the sedan now sits on a new modular B-Segment platform which is the same one found on its Coolray brother. It also adopts the same styling cues as the Preface sedan and the Xingyue L crossover. This gives the sedan a sleek front end with narrow LED headlights and a large grille. Aside from this the sedan also comes with full-width LED tail lights which are evident in the latest teaser video.
With all signs pointing to the Geely Emgrand making its way into the Philippine market, the question now is when will the automaker officially launch the vehicle. There are no official details yet as Geely remains tight-lipped about the official release date, but we could expect the Emgrand to make an appearance within the month.
